‘At your fingertips’ delves into the unconscious habits that occupy our hands during moments of idleness, focusing on a personal and instinctive need for repetitive, tactile actions as a way to soothe the mind and channel thought.
At times, we all wish we could quiet our minds, escaping the cycle of unwanted thoughts and overthinking. In those moments, we instinctively seek distractions, searching for calm amidst worry and stress. For me, this search led to a personal coping mechanism: folding any paper within reach, be it shop receipts or transport cards, into geometric patterns. Though seemingly trivial, this repetitive action helps relax my mind, focusing on the movements of my hands rather than intrusive thoughts.
Building on this habitual behavior, this collection explores the act of folding in a new material. Silicone replaces paper, allowing experimentation with its unique properties to reveal fresh shapes and patterns. The result is a collection of bracelets designed to invite touch, fidgeting, and interaction. When unclasped, the bracelets transform into two rings, encouraging tactile engagement with both hands.
